Perennial legume with bright yellow flowers that bloom from spring to early summer.

 

  • Growth: Can grow 2 - 3 ft tall.
  • Light: Prefers full sun.
  • Soil: Prefers well-drained, medium to dry soils.
  • Hardiness: Drought-tolerant & deer & rabbit resistant.
  • Maintenance: Best not to disturb once established, because it develops a deep taproot that is easily damaged if transplanted. Slightly toxic to livestock if eaten in large amounts.
  • Benefits: Attracts bees & is host plant for the Wild Indigo Duskywing butterfly & seed pods are great for dried flower arrangements.
