Old Field Goldenrod (Solidago nemoralis) - Upright perennial that blooms from Aug to Sept. 
 
Growth: Can grow to .5 - 2 feet tall.
Light: Full sun.
Soil: dry soil, even poor, rocky clay slopes with little organic matter.
Hardiness: Excellent plant for difficult areas. Tolerates deer, drought, dry, shallow, & rocky soil.
Maintenance: Low maintenance.
